Andrea Walker is an Associate Literary Agent at Azantian Literary Agency, actively building her client list representing authors/illustrators of picture book, middle grade, and young adult works.
Andrea first fell in love with books as a child, searching the dusty shelves of a flea market bookstore and has been on the hunt for her next great read ever since. Andrea holds a Bachelor Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Creative Writing, Finance, and Education and is pursuing her Masters in Education. She got her start in publishing in 2016, interning for a literary agent and a publisher before joining Olswanger Literary as a contracts and research intern, finally landing at Azantian Literary as an Associate Agent in 2020. She has worked closely with literary agents and editors as an editorial intern reading queries, submissions, and providing editorial and contractual feedback.

Overall: Diversity within my list is very important to me. I want stories that reflect the world around us, stories from BIPOC, LGBTQ+, disabled, and underrepresented creators. I’m searching for stories with characters I can’t help but root for even if their journey isn’t quite what we expect, and voice that grabs hold of me and won’t let go. Books that can be pitched in one hooky line or comped to movies, pop-culture, songs, etc.
ANTI: At this time, I’m not the best fit for: Gods/Goddesses, Fae, or Paranormal–except ghosts unless completely fresh. NO school or mass shootings. NO on-the-page assault.
I look forward to your query 🙂
